A human caddie would have known better — because a caddie remembers what you actually do with each disc, not what the flight numbers claim. That memory is exactly what we're building into Disc Caddie.

The Core Idea: Your Numbers, Not the Stamp

Flight numbers describe a disc thrown by an idealized arm. Your Leopard3 doesn't fly '7/5/-2/1' — it flies 287 feet with a late right drift when you throw it flat, and 240 feet on a hyzer. Disc Caddie's recommendation engine is built on your logged throws, so its model of every disc in your bag is a model of you throwing it.

What the Engine Weighs

• Your throw history per disc: real average and peak distances, shot shapes, and consistency — the more you log, the sharper the picks
• The shot in front of you: distance to the pin and the shape the fairway demands
• Conditions: wind direction and strength, which shift effective disc stability (a headwind makes everything flippier)
• Disc condition: a seasoned disc flies more understable than a fresh one, and the engine tracks that drift over time

What a Recommendation Looks Like

Instead of a wall of stats, you get a caddie's answer: “310 feet, slight headwind — take the TeeBird flat. Your Leopard turns over in this wind.” One primary pick, one alternate, and the reason why. You can always tap deeper into the numbers, but the point is to shorten the decision, not lengthen it.

Tips to Get Sharp Recommendations Fast

1. Log your field work. Twenty throws per disc in an open field gives the engine a strong baseline in one session.
2. Keep your bag current. Retire discs in the app when you retire them in life — ghosts in the bag blur the picks.
3. Log the misses too. The engine learns as much from your grip-locked throws as your pure ones; consistency data drives the 'highest-percentage' logic.
4. Record conditions honestly. A 250-foot throw into a two-club headwind is a 290-foot arm. Context makes the data mean something.
